PETE YALANIS – History/Photography

HISTORY/PHOTOGRAPHY – Pete’s touring exhibition “All Sides Of The Parthenon” features breathtaking perspectives of the great ancient Athenian temple, photos he was able to shoot after being granted unprecedented access. Hear the fascinating story of the Elgin marbles and how the American Committee for the Reunification of the Parthenon Sculptures is making an effort to have them returned to Athens. Some small examples of Pete’s Parthenon photography can be seen here while you listen. History is always fascinating!

Great show/interview. I’ve been to the Parthenon and it was “epic” and Pete’s photo’s are astounding! The PBS special filled in a lot of the detail that you couldn’t cover in your 30 minutes and is a must see for all history buffs. I have also seen the Elgin marbles at the British Museum and they should return them along with all the other artifacts they ransacked from the countries they “occupied”. But first on the list should be the Rosetta Stone!
    Cheers…
